An evening of opera, art and celebration

An evening of opera, art and celebration was hosted by Sotheby’s Australia in their Woollahra rooms in support of the Melba Opera Trust. Guests were treated to a splendid performance by two Melba Opera Trust alumni, Janet Todd, soprano and Matthew Reardon, tenor accompanied exquisitely by Siro Battaglin on a magnificent grand piano brought in for the occasion thanks to Hutchings Pianos of Bondi Junction.

Melba Opera Trust is Australia’s premier scholarship program for promising young opera singers and relies solely on donations Sent from my iPhone Nellie Melba’s conviction “a beautiful voice is not enough”, the program nurtures artistic development alongside business training, mentoring and performance experience.
